At the heart of any successful healthcare system lies the ability to preserve crucial medical data for future reference. In histopathology, where patient slides can inform critical medical decisions years after their initial examination, proper storage is non-negotiable. Recognizing this need, Energy Surge Pvt Ltd recently undertook a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project to donate two custom-designed microscope slide storage drawers to Wathupitiwala Hospital. Spearheaded by our main volunteers, the project aimed to solve a long-standing challenge faced by the hospital’s Histopathology section.
In celebration of Vesak, our team came together to volunteer for the annual Dansala held last May, where we distributed free milk coffee and biscuits to travelers. The event, coordinated by Dinuka Rathnayake, was conducted under the supervision of public health inspectors to ensure safety and hygiene for all participants.
This initiative was entirely driven by the volunteer efforts of our employees, who dedicated their time and energy to make the event a success. From setting up the booths to serving travelers with warm smiles, our volunteers embraced the spirit of Vesak by fostering kindness, generosity, and compassion.

As part of our commitment to making a positive impact in the healthcare sector, we are proud to announce a recent initiative to support the Histopathology Laboratory at Wathupitiwala Hospital. This project, coordinated by Kassapa Osanda Wickramsinghe, involved the donation of a set of box files and hands-on support to develop an efficient system for organizing patient data. Our efforts demonstrate the potential of small, well-targeted interventions to create significant improvements in public health services.
The Histopathology lab is integral to diagnosing diseases such as cancer, relying on timely analysis of tissue samples. However, the lab had been facing delays in data management. Kassapa, recognizing this challenge, led the volunteer effort to address the issue and streamline the process.
