Capacitor Banks and Power Factor Correction
Electrical capacitors installed near the inductive loads produce the reactive power required by the inductive loads. Their connection to the electrical network is called compensation or improvement of the power factor. It is the most economical, easy and safe system to supply the required reactive power. Power factor improvement gives the following advantages to the user.
- Reduce current power Transformer, Circuit Breakers, Cables, Motors, Generators etc.
- Reduction of heating losses in transformers and distribution equipment
- Increase in Capacity of your existing system and equipment.
- Improves Voltage level. (Reduction of voltage drop)
- Decrease of active power losses in Cables and Motors
- Reduction of in size of cables, Transformers and Switchgear on new installations.
We design, supply and install low voltage capacitor banks. Our design is based on data logged on-site and past electricity bills of the installation. The presence of harmonics also accounted for in designing capacitor banks.
Apart from providing new capacitor banks we also provide the following services on existing ones.
- Servicing (one time or as an agreement)
- Reporting of the condition for compliance audits
- Repairing
- Re-designing for expansions
- Consultation on energy saving
